The M20 is BMW's workhorse late 80s engine. Replacing the restrictive vane AFM with a modern MAF signal sharpens throttle response and stabilizes idle.

How It Works

The Problem

Mechanical vane-type meters (AFM) are restrictive and prone to wear. Modern hot-wire MAF sensors are faster and more accurate, but output a signal the factory ECU doesn't understand.

The Solution

MAFSync acts as a digital bridge, translating the modern MAF signal into the exact voltage curve your factory ECU expects. No ECU modifications required.

About This Product

MAFSync started as a solution to a single problem on a single car — a discontinued M42 AFM with no clean replacement. The fix worked. The firmware was refined. The same core approach now covers the entire M20 and 4-cylinder lineups, with the M30 and S38 in active development.
